Max: Today we have a great matchup for someone like myself. We have two of the most famous warriors in Early-Modern history, the Landsknecht and the Janissary. Not only do we have black powder weapons, we have blades and armor. It's gonna be great!

Landsknecht stats: Height: 6 foot 3 inches

Narrator: Fighting for the Landsknecht are Ulrich von Wolfen, a world renowned sword master and stunt man, along with Georg Laakman, a sword and artillery expert.

Georg: The Landsknecht were the most feared and well paid of all mercenaries in 15th century Europe. They were renowned for fighting like savage beasts, and using weapons that did nothing less than brutally slaughter whoever the Landsknecht was fighting.

Narrator: During the reign of Emperor Maximillian I, the Landsknecht mercenaries, famous for their flamboyant and colorful outfits, were hired by rulers all over Western Europe for wars with one another. Fighting with greatswords and cannons, these troops inspired rulers of Europe to actually dress in Landsknecht style.

Ulrich: The Janissary's gonna have no way to penetrate the Landsknecht's armor, and all they're wearing is a flimsy robe and some leather. It's gonna be a piece of cake.

Narrator: Although Team Landsknecht claims victory, Team Janissary believes that it will be the Landsknechts who will perish in this match-up. Fighting for the Janissary are Yusef Aybar, a Turkish native who specializes in Jannisary warfare. Also waging war for the Janissary is Remizi Al-Jizar, an expert with Turkish arms and armor.

Remizi: The Janissaries were slave-soldiers of the Ottoman Empire and fought with the very best of weapons that the Ottomans gave to them.

Narrator: During the height of the Ottoman Empire, the Janissary Corps fought their way to victory in places as far from Constantinople as Egypt, Hungary, Greece, and the Holy Land.

Hazim: Let the Landsknecht come to us. We'll just shoot a musket into his brain!

The Janissary takes the Edge here because of the Yatagan's longer reach and ability to puncture Landsknecht mail.

The Landsknecht takes the Edge with the Zweihander thanks to the power of the Landsknecht's cuirass being able to block the Partizan's attacks.

Narrator: Because both Landsknechts and Janissaries fought in squads, this will be a five on five squad battle

The morning mist was lifting as five Janissaries, all clad in colorful robes and leather cuirasses, marched through an open field, their weapons slung over their shoulders as they marched back to Istanbul. Standing on the other side of the field were five Landsknechts who were loading up a cannon and aiming it at the Janissaries. At a head nod from their leader, the other four Landsknechts fired the cannon, and watched with glee as the cannonball soared through the air and then crushed a Janissary's skull. Furious over the death oftheir comrade, the Janissaries rushed at the Landsknechts, who were unsheathing their weapons and charging at the Janissaries. Both squadrons began fighting like madmen, for one of the Janissaries beheaded a Landsknecht with his Yatagan, but was then stabbed in the chest by another Landsknecht's Katzbalger. Backing up slowly, another Janissary fired the Abus Gun at an oncoming Landsknecht, but all the ammunition did was deflect off of the cuirass and knock the man over. As he tried to get up, the Landsknecht saw the Janissary pickup his Partizan, and then he felt the Partizan's point rupture his neck. Laughing with glee, the Janissary had only a moment to turn around before his brains were spilt onto the ground by a Landknecht firing his Arquebus at the Janissary's head. Glad that he had avenged his dead comrades, the Landsknecht reloaded the Arquebus, and then fired it at a Janissary who was aiming a musket at his face. Both men ended up killing each other, leaving the one Janissary against the two Landsknechts, but as one of them charged, the Janissary promptly stabbed him through the neck with the Yatagan. The last remaining Landsknecht, thoroughly annoyed with the Janissary, lifted up his Zweihander and swung it wildly. The Zweihander's blade sliced through the Janissary as though he were made of butter. Seeing that no other Janissaries were left to fight him, he stabbed his Zweihander into the ground and roared "HEILIGE ROM!" at the top of his lungs.

Winner: Landsknecht

Max: The Landsknecht emerged victorious here with 578 kills, while the Janissary had 422 kills to their credit. Even though both of these warriors were pretty well matched, the armor and hard hitting weapons of the Landsknecht brought them to victory.

Georg: Well what were you expecting? Of course the Landsknecht is the Deadliest Warrior.

Hazim: So what if a computer says that the Janissary lost, in real life the situation would have been much different
